BriefCam® Wins HLS Israel Technology Innovation Company of the Year 2012

BriefCam’s VIDEO SYNOPSIS® technology for browsing hours of surveillance video in minutes took first place for physical security in the Innovation Competition at the 2nd International Conference for Homeland Security in Tel Aviv

Neve Ilan, Israel, November 13, 2012 – BriefCam®, the developer and provider of the VIDEO SYNOPSIS solution for rapid reviewing, analyzing and indexing of video, today won First Prize for physical security and was named Technology Company of the Year in the HLS Technology Innovation Competition at the 2nd International Conference for Homeland Security in Tel Aviv. The competition was sponsored by the Israel Export Institute, The Office of the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, and MATIMOP – the Israeli Industry Center for R&D.

At Israel HLS 2012, BriefCam demonstrated its products based on the VIDEO SYNOPSIS technology which enables hours of surveillance video to be browsed in minutes. On average, one hour of video is summarized into a minute of video review time. The technology, which is already used by law enforcement, police and other security authorities worldwide, saves on both time and manpower, and provides a solution to the challenge posed by the ever-growing amount of video generated each day.

The Israel HLS 2012 exhibition was attended by an international audience of government ministers, mayors, police chiefs, heads of intelligence organizations and companies engaged in homeland security. The conference program focused on the four critical aspects of homeland security: smart cities (urban security), protection of critical infrastructures, cyber security, and crisis management.

Some 60 leading Israeli companies presented innovative homeland security solutions within the exhibition framework. BriefCam was among a select few invited to present their technologies before the conference plenum. In addition, BriefCam was among the 15 companies selected to compete for the Innovation Award.

Israel HLS 2012 was organized by the Israel Export Institute in cooperation with the Israeli ministries of Industry, Trade and Labor, Foreign Affairs, Homeland Security, Homeland Defense, Defense – SIBAT (Defense Export & Cooperation), the Port of Ashdod, and the Israel Exhibition Center.
